THE MISFIT STORY: When I started the Ginger Runner endeavor back in 2011, music was just something I did for fun that worked my music theory brain and musicianship muscles from my youth. It was a unique form of expression that would add a layer of depth to my visual creations. I was surprised when viewers started requesting the tunes separately to enjoy on their own. I obliged and went on to create dozens of songs for my running films, curating 3 albums that would go on to top iTunes electronic charts. But…

Whether it be music, running, ultras, filmmaking or my other creative pursuits, I’ve never felt like I belonged. An imposter just waiting to be outed as a fraud. I’ve never fit because I’ve never been good enough - not fast enough, not far enough, not unique enough, not strong enough. I stopped releasing music and pulled back from the other passions that once gave me life. What I learned is that this is all self-imposed doubt of my place amongst my peers - that I didn’t deserve a place at all. I discovered that this voice is rotten. That there is always a fit for those that don’t.

Misfit is my fourth album. I’m very proud of it and I can’t wait to share it with the world. To my fellow misfits, you ARE worthy. You ARE enough. May we ALWAYS feel a sense of belonging amongst our fellow Misfits!
